The etymology of Zircon is traced back to the Persian word ‘’Zargun’’ (golden bud) and was corrupted into the word “Jargon” a French word used to vaguely refer to high quality diamond like gemstones, Zircon the German adaption of this word was eventually modified to become the English word Zircon.
